Visual Voice Fine Art presents new contemporary paintings by Jared Betts & Kristina Sobstad and glass works by Colette Samson. All three artists have different impetus behind their work: dreams, the Nova Scotia landscape, voicing unspoken emotion. Unifying them is the emphasis in colour, shape, and rich layering; the physicality of the brushstrokes and the “unfolding” of glass. Some of the work is representational, though mostly abstract, with some glass pieces going beyond the functional to hang on walls. Meet the artists at the opening reception Friday, July 22 from 7 to 9 pm.
